For over 60 years, the Rusalka Ukrainian Dance Ensemble has been recognized for its powerful storytelling, athletic choreography, and vibrant celebration of Ukrainian culture. Based in Winnipeg, Rusalka is composed of dedicated dancers aged 18 and older who bring tradition to life on some of the world’s most prestigious stages.

Yes, admission to the Rusalka Ensemble is by audition only. We assess technique, performance ability, musicality, and dedication. Auditions are typically held annually, but interested dancers can also reach out throughout the year.

Ensemble members rehearse 2 times per week for a total of 6 hours. Rehearsal intensity increases leading up to major performances, tours, or productions. Dancers are expected to maintain peak physical condition and attend all scheduled practices.

Rusalka performs at major cultural festivals, theatres, corporate events, and international tours. Our repertoire includes our high-energy Hopak, regional dances, and full-length productions that celebrate the richness of Ukrainian heritage.
