Join our Rusalkas Artistic Director, Mariia Bodian, for a ladies-only workshop (ages 14+ Females only) exploring the passion, rhythm, and style of Spanish dance. Bring a long skirt and character heels if you have them; otherwise, any dance shoes will do.

The workshop includes:

• learning the Spanish-style barre - from plié to battement fondu in Spanish character

• center work

• exploration of Spanish arms, footwork, positions, and distinctive stylistic expression

• immersion into the emotion, style, and aesthetics of Spanish dance

• conclude with a short choreography in Spanish character.

Mariia Bodian - a soloist of the Pavlo Virsky Ukrainian National Dance Ensemble with 18 years of professional stage experience. She has extensive teaching experience in classical ballet, character, and Ukrainian folk-stage dance, and has been invited multiple times to teach masterclasses across Ukraine and Canada.
